Ibadan Business School (IBS) RC: 972642 was incorporated on the 17th day of August, 2011 under the Company and Allied Matters Act 1990 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the primary objective of promoting the growth and advancement of business education within and outside Africa. The School is also registered with the Center for Management Development (CMD) of Nigeria - the statutory body charged with the responsibility of regulating the standards of Training and Development Institutions in Nigeria.

Ibadan Business School (IBS) has been established to address the inadequate fulfillment of the capacity needs of Public Governance Business at the Local, State and Federal levels as well as attend to the business capacity development needs of individuals, micro, small, and medium scale entrepreneurs including the private business sector.

Ibadan Business School is poised to provide a customised response to Developing Nation’s socio-economic development challenges through its need-driven, tailor-made, unique, and context based solution programmes. The School prides itself as the only Business Education Institution in Nigeria that focuses its training programmes primarily on the two most important sectors of developing Economies - the Public Sector and the Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises (MSMEs). The organised private sector is known to be the key driver of buoyant economies, wealth and job creation in developed nations of the Western parts of the world while the public sector is at the drivers’ seat in most developing countries and since the ultimate goal of every nation is to be the leading economy in the world, it has become imperative to address the capacity needs of all stakeholders in the economy which are Public Sector, Private Sector and the individuals. It is however unfortunate that the capacity needs of Public Governance Business which is the major driver of economies in developing nations especially in Nigeria and other Sub-Saharan Countries have not enjoyed the deserved priority. The capacity development interest of the Private Sector seems to be the priority of many business education institutions even in developing countries where the business training needs of the Public Sector ought to be given utmost priority in order to facilitate a rapid transition from a developing status to a developed country. It is in meeting this need that Ibadan Business School has been founded.

Motivated By Impact
Since we began operations in 2013, we have trained nearly 1000 participants. Since inception, our impact is founded IBS on our in-depth Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise MSME and Public Sector knowledge. We have built an impressive track record of delivering sustainable value to our clients and it is at the intersection of education and value-creation that we have had many organisations, agencies and individuals choose to partner with us. In this vein we have been selected as the partner of choice by the World Bank to deliver Development Management Programmes. Our graduates are spread across Nigeria developing successful careers built on their IBS experience.
