Professor Pikay Richardson
Professor Pikay Richardson earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1976. After two years as a broadcast engineer with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, He joined the BBC Engineering Training Centre, where he specialized in colour television systems. His return to academia began in 1981 when he took a five-year contract appointment with the Federal Government of Nigeria to lecture in the Department of Electrical Engineering in a Polytechnic. Professor Richardson teaches Economics on all the School's degree programmes and has taught at Prestigious Schools like Salford University.
In the Executive Centre, Professor Richardson has designed and directed many post-experience executive courses including the Midland Bank EMP, the School's Senior Executive Course and the India Railways SMP. He also organises live consultancy projects. He currently works at the Manchester Business School.
He is currently a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Manchester Business School. He is a seasoned economic and management development educator and consultant. He holds an MSc. in Management Sciences and a PhD in Business Economics and Strategy from the University of Manchester. Over a period spanning 20 years, he held faculty positions at Manchester Business School and New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, New Jersey, USA, where he was Research Professor and Academic Director.
Apart for degree courses, Professor Richardson also has over 20 years of experience in the design and delivery of short executive development courses for in-service managers and executives in the UK and many other countries. He regularly conducts training programmes and consults for companies in the UK, France, Germany, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, Jamaica, Nigeria and Ghana.
